GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
HONGKONG. 17th July, 1914.
Tq334 With reference to your despatch No.142 of the 6th June and to previous correspondence, I have the honour to inform you that the sentence of death which was passed on Ibrahim, a private in the 126th Regiment of Baluchistan Infantry on the 16th December, 1912, was carried into effect on the 16th July, 1914, in the Victoria
Gaol.
I regret that I was unable to adopt the suggestion made by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to commute the sentence in this case. I awaited
the receipt of your despatch under reference and I then privately and confidentially took the opinion of the Commanding Officers of the four Indian Regiments and of the Indian Artillery in garrison here. Their opinion agreed with that of the Executive Council and of myself.
I have the honour to be,
sir,
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
выход
Governor,&c.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
LEWIS HARCOURT, M.F.,
